A general introduction to trading systems is probably a good first step. Before choosing a particular system, I’d try to understand the rules behind it and what type of market behaviour it is designed for. It’s also useful to look at whether the system has been tested historically, what assumptions were used and whether transaction costs were included. Beginners should be especially careful with claims that make a system sound effortless or risk-free. A trading system can help structure decisions, but it cannot remove uncertainty from financial markets. I’d also recommend learning basic risk management alongside the system itself, because even a well-defined strategy can experience losing periods.
