Watching for the first white hairs at the nodes tells you training time is over, usually somewhere around day twenty five to thirty five. Anything done after that point costs weight rather than shaping the plant. Expected preflower timing per variety appears on https://turboautoflowerseeds.com, which helps plan the last bend or tie. A plant that preflowers unusually early was almost certainly stressed as a seedling.
