Every time I think about starting meditation, journaling, or any self-help thing, my brain just goes “ugh, not today.” I know it’s probably good for me, but that first step feels impossible. How do you push past that resistance?
For me, it was about lowering the entry point until there was no excuse. Like meditating for just 30 seconds at first. In the Liven, they talk about how the app encourages you to start tiny, with no pressure to “do it perfectly.” That took away the intimidation factor. Once you remove the mental hurdle, it’s way easier to keep going, and your brain slowly rewires to expect and even enjoy the practice.
Sometimes it’s not about willpower — it’s about making the starting point so small your brain can’t argue. I did that with stretching in the morning and now it’s automatic.
