We were at Québec Digital Week 2019
For the 2nd year in a row, playmoweb participated in Quebec's digital week from April 1 to 9, 2019. For several years, the OFQJ has offered French companies to participate by organizing a week dedicated developers to exchanges and the discovery of the Quebec ecosystem.
For this edition, I went with Thibaud Giovannetti , our software architect. The week was punctuated by meetings, visits and conferences (and a few beers).
To start, on Monday, we participated in an economic morning at the Notman House . Several players in the economic world of Quebec have followed one another to present the advantages of settling in Quebec.
The afternoon continued with a visit to Google Montreal. On the program, a presentation of the premises and an exchange of questions / answers with Googlers.
To end this day, a 5 @ 7 (networking evening) was organized at the station between Montrealers and French people. La Gare is a collaborative space that offers multiple software testing service for businesses and helps them develop. We met several Quebecers but also French from the delegation.
The following 3 days, we participated in the Web in Quebec , the largest French-speaking digital event in North America which is organized in Quebec City. The WAQ, for regulars, are 3 exciting days of conferences, workshops, meetings and evenings.
In the terminal of the port of Quebec City, the various interventions are offered in 5 rooms simultaneously. This year, AI (Artificial Intelligence) was highlighted, but we were also able to participate in software development company on UX, learning, IoT. 2 talks particularly pleased me: DESIGN & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE by Tony Aubé and LA MARQUE EST MORTE. VIVE L'INTELLIGENTE ARTIFICIELLE by Manon Gruaz. A very well organized event with great speakers.
Of course, the WAQ wouldn't be the WAQ without its 5 @ 7s. The first on the theme of Mexico then the second on the 80s. On Friday morning, we spent an informative moment and exchanges during a morning dedicated to digital innovation and business development at Auberge Saint-Antoine organized by the CCI of Quebec. A breakfast of discussions with Quebec entrepreneurs then a conference in 2 parts: feedback from Quebec City on the digital devices put in place and Stéphane Hamel explaining how to take advantage of data.
Between all these moments, we made contacts with software companies and digital players, but not only. Many French encounters came to discover this region of Canada. It is certain that future collaborations are to be expected.
Finally, it was a great pleasure to see Angevins crossing the Atlantic to spread the word about Angevin's potential and its territory: Yoann Digue, Claire Jubin, Sophie Kotras d'aldev and Constance Nebbula elected from the city of Angers. But also, the people of Nantes whom we have tried to convert to the gentle Angevin: Swen and Maxime de Windreport.
See you soon in Quebec!
PS: Thank you to the OFQJ for the organization.
