So my 2018 C300 gave me the red battery warning on the dash last week and then yesterday it just refused to crank at all. I called Gargash and nearly choked when they told me the price for a genuine AGM battery plus labor and programming because apparently these cars need some kind of registration with the computer. I love my car but I’m not made of money so I started looking around for alternatives and found a page about mercedes battery replacement on the BatteryZoneUAE site which mentioned they can handle the coding part which was a huge relief honestly. Has anyone here gone the non dealer route with their Mercedes and lived to tell the story? I’m nervous about messing with the electronics because I’ve heard horror stories about windows acting weird or the stop start system freaking out. But at the same time paying almost double at the dealership just feels wrong when it’s probably the same VARTA or Exide battery underneath. Just want the car to start reliably without throwing errors on the dash every morning.
